James Karle Observatory
The James H. Karle Observatory sits atop the roof of the Olin Center for Physics and Chemistry. The observatory houses several telescopes, including a research-grade instrument with a design similar to the Hubble Space Telescope. The Ritchey Chretien–style telescope at Lewis & Clark has a 16-inch-diameter mirror, which enables it to gather 3,500 times more light than the naked eye.
