Language in Motion

Language in Motion (LiM) at Lewis & Clark College is part of a Northwest consortium (with Willamette University, Pacific University & Linfield College). We are looking for recent study abroad returnees, language assistants and international students who would like to share their knowledge and experiences within local K-12 schools.

Are you a study abroad returnee?
Ever wonder how you could ‘bring it back’ to the community?  How do you come full circle and share your experience abroad with others?

Are you a language assistant or an international student at LC?
Ever wonder how you can share your culture outside the LC community, be an advocate for social understanding and cultural competency?

Are you a teacher in our community?

Learn more about having a Lewis and Clark student come and present in your classroom. Presenters share their unique study abroad experiences and will work to compliment your lesson plans.

The goals of Language in Motion at Lewis & Clark are:

  • increase interest in world cultures
  • demonstrate the value of language learning, study abroad & global citizenship
  • create dialogues between students and between students & teachers

The design is to bring Lewis and Clark students into local K-12 classrooms to give a one-time 45-90 minute interactive presentation. We will collaborate with LC students and the host teacher to create a meaningful experience for everyone! This program is made possible through the generous support from the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations.
