We are delighted to announce that it is time once again to submit nominations for our annual Student Life Staff Awards in the following categories:
Student Life Mark Duntley Award
This award recognizes excellent administrative and/or professional performance that enhances the effective functioning of the individual office or unit and contributes to the attainment of the goals and objectives of the Division of Student Life at Lewis & Clark College. Nomination Deadline: March 15
Please provide concrete example(s) of how the nominee has demonstrated exemplary service to the Division of Student Life. Your complete nomination should be no longer than one page, single spaced text. The award committee will consider the following criteria when reviewing nominations:
- Positive and effective relationships/interactions with students, staff, and other institutional stakeholders;
- Accomplishments that have had a positive impact on the department/office, student experience, and/or Division of Student Life;
- Honesty and adherence to the highest standards of moral and ethical values through personal and professional behavior;
- Contributions to the awareness and consciousness about diversity and inclusion within the context of the College’s mission/vision.

Student Life Team Award:
The recipients of this award will collaborate exceptionally well; bring a spirit of inclusion to all that they do; and strive to cultivate the best possible student experience. Nomination Deadline: March 15
Please provide concrete example(s) of how the nominee has demonstrated exemplary service to the Division of Student Life. Your complete nomination should be no longer than one page, single spaced text. The award committee will consider the following criteria when reviewing nominations:
- Advanced the Student Life Strategic Direction initiative;
- Pursued clear goals and created distinctive results/solutions that improved performance or productivity, and/or reduced costs, or enhanced the image of the College;
- Created a team environment of successful collaborative relationships that promoted communication, trust, and respect for differences;
- Demonstrated commitment to values of diversity, tact, and inclusion in performance of responsibilities and in interactions with members of the LC community, and demonstrated efforts to promote an environment free from bias and discrimination.

Student Life Excellence in Innovation Award:
This award celebrates and acknowledges an individual whose exceptional innovative and creative initiatives enhance the Division of Student Life. Nomination Deadline: March 15
Please provide concrete example(s) of how the nominee has demonstrated exemplary service to the Division of Student Life. Your complete nomination should be no longer than one page, single spaced text. The award committee will consider the following criteria when reviewing nominations:
- Made significant changes, modifications, or approaches, or developed an innovative process or procedure, that enhanced the effective functioning of the individual office or department, and/or the student experience;
- Built interactions and partnerships that produced results and left others feeling respected and valued;
- Demonstrated commitment to values of diversity, tact, and inclusion in performance of responsibilities and in interactions with members of the LC community, and demonstrated efforts to promote an environment free from bias and discrimination.

Student Life Medallion Award:
This award recognizes an emerging professional who consistently goes above and beyond in their efforts to support the student experience. The recipient of this award will be new to Lewis & Clark (five years or less) and/or new to the field of Student Affairs (five years or less). Nomination Deadline: March 15
Please provide concrete example(s) of how the nominee has demonstrated exemplary service to the Division of Student Life. Your complete nomination should be no longer than one page, single spaced text. The award committee will consider the following criteria when reviewing nominations:
- Demonstrated commitment to the betterment of Lewis & Clark College and/or their department;
- Sustained outstanding performance in one’s job responsibilities that is frequently above and beyond the normal scope of expectations;
- Demonstrated impact on creating an environment which enhances the student experience at Lewis & Clark College;
- Provided leadership and innovation within the context of the individual’s role and position responsibilities (e.g. exercising sound decision-making and resourcefulness, fostering the development of new ideas and creativity, positive role model for others);
- Demonstrated commitment to values of diversity, tact, and inclusion in performance of responsibilities and in interactions with members of the LC community, and demonstrated efforts to promote an environment free from bias and discrimination.

Student Life Partner Award:
This award recognizes an outstanding faculty or staff member from a department outside of the Division of Student Life who has contributed to the Division’s attainment of its goals and objectives as demonstrated by collaboration, involvement and partnerships with the Division. Nomination Deadline: March 15
Please provide concrete example(s) of how the nominee has demonstrated exemplary service to the Division of Student Life. Your complete nomination should be no longer than one page, single spaced text. The award committee will consider the following criteria when reviewing nominations:
- Enhanced the Division’s ability to have a positive impact on a department or office within Student Life, the student experience, and/or the Division of Student Life itself;
- Demonstrated commitment to values of diversity, tact, and inclusion in performance of responsibilities and in interactions with members of the LC community, and demonstrated efforts to promote an environment free from bias and discrimination.

Kudos for Colleagues
In addition to the awards program, we are pleased to introduce “Kudos for Colleagues”. This new feature of our awards and recognition program gives you the opportunity to recognize Student Life colleagues for going above and beyond in order to solve a problem, be of assistance, build community, or generally enhance the overall Lewis & Clark experience. Every other week we will randomly select a winner to receive a gift card and will announce them on the VPSL/DOS social media accounts. Recognize someone today via this form!
