The Career Center excels at connecting students with resources for life after L&C, and their recent collaboration with Savviest is no exception. The online job search platform, created by Devin Owen BA ’14, helps people manage their job search using coaching, community, and AI technology. Students will be given complimentary access to the platform for six months this fall. We asked Devin a few questions about his company, why it will be helpful to students, and how L&C prepared him for his career.
The Career Center’s 2021 Summer Interns
Lewis & Clark’s Career Center provides a multitude of summer internships for students to explore their passions. Many of these opportunities are funded by generous grants and scholarships to support our students while they work. Emily Hayes-Rich BA ’19, Stephen Holden Jones BA ’18, and David Manicke BA ’21 have recently been awarded Fulbright research grants, while last year’s winners, Noah Foster-Koth BA ’19 and Cole Harris BA ’20, are now hoping to begin their postponed fellowships. The Fulbright Program was particularly competitive this year, with applications up 12 percent.
Lewis & Clark Alumna Launches Advice Column at The Oregonian
Lizzy Acker BA ’05 is the pen behind The Oregonian’s new column doling out sharp, honest advice on the big and small problems in life. Lewis & Clark President Wim Wiewel has appointed former United States Ambassador Niels Marquardt BA ’75 as the college’s first diplomat in residence.
