What three words would you use to describe L&C?
What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?
Access to the city, beautiful campus, golf program, creative and smart people.
What have you been doing since graduation?
My background is in analytical chemistry. After graduating I worked for a state-accredited testing lab analyzing environmental contaminants in cannabis. I’m currently a part of an National Institutes of Health (NIH) research project that measures prenatal exposure to environmental pollutants.
How did Lewis & Clark prepare you for your job?
The small class sizes made it possible to have one-on-one meetings with professors and engaging class discussion. The athletic program helped me develop strong interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as make professional connections.
What would you say is the most important thing you learned at Lewis & Clark?
It’s important to expand and diversify your interests through different classes/electives or creative endeavors while you have the opportunity at a school like L&C.
Why did you major in chemistry?
I knew I wanted to major in a STEM degree, and I was drawn to the chemistry department because of the great professors and interesting classes.
How do you stay connected to Lewis & Clark as an alum?
Almost all my closest friends are Lewis & Clark alums, and I’ve had the opportunity to meet other alums in New York.
