John Aney ’88

John Aney, a native Oregonian, graduated from Lewis & Clark in 1988 with a degree in Theatre and a minor in Religious Studies. John joined the Advancement team at Lewis & Clark in June of 2022, and is really happy to be back on campus and getting to work with the alumni community to make great things happen.

A professionally-trained actor, John holds a Masters Degree in Theatre History and Dramatic Literature from Indiana University, and has worked as a semi-professional actor in the Bay Area and Portland for many years. Along the way, John also earned a Master’s of Divinity from Pacific School of Religion, and is an ordained UCC minister. John and his wife Mary Dakin ’88 live in Lake Oswego with their two daughters, Sam and Emaline.

As an actor, John is passionate about the power of stories to link people to each other and to the causes they care about. Joining the Advancement team has given John the opportunity to connect alumni stories to the story of the Lewis & Clark community.
