Application Information

Application Checklist

All documents listed on the transfer application checklist are required for a complete application to Lewis & Clark.  Your file will not be reviewed until all documents are received.  There is no application fee.

Application Deadlines

Transfer applications are evaluated on a rolling basis. Review of applications for fall semester begins after January 15. There is no set deadline by which fall applications must be completed; however, to ensure full consideration of your application, we strongly recommend you submit all credentials by April 1. We will notify you of our admission decision approximately three weeks after your application is completed.

There may not be space in the entering class for late applicants. If we are able to consider late applicants for admission, they may find limitations to financial aid resources, on-campus housing options, and space in fall courses.

Application Process

Receipt of your Common Application will generate your official application file in our office. Once your application has been received, we will let you know via email that your applicant file has been established in our office. We will also provide instruction on how to access your online student portal to check on the status of your supporting documents. Communication from our office will primarily be via email, so it is very important that you provide us with a valid email address and that you check that account regularly. While we do try to communicate with students about the status of their applications, ultimately it is the applicant’s responsibility to follow up on the file and ensure that the various required documents are both sent and received.

Admission Decisions

Once your file is complete, official admissions notifications will be posted online to your L&C Portal and admissions packets will also be sent to you via regular mail within three weeks. Admissions decisions are valid only for the term for which you originally applied and do not carry over to subsequent terms.

Reapplication

If you applied for admission within the last two years, we will still have your application materials on file, but to be considered for admission again, you will need to submit a new application and possibly new supporting credentials as well. Please contact us to discuss the reapplication process.
