What three words would you use to describe L&C?

Friendly, Engaging, Challenging

What’s your favorite class? How has it expanded your knowledge?

My favorite class was Macroeconomics with Associate Professor Eric Tymoigne. His class is not easy but I learned a lot about how macroeconomics theories are applied in the global economy. Also, he is really helpful during his office hours and really friendly to his students.

Who is your mentor on campus? Why do you consider this person your mentor?

My mentor on campus is my advisor Eric Tymoigne. He guides me on academics and also gives advice for my potential career options.

What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?

I wanted to go to a relatively small school with a close-knit community. I searched online for liberal arts colleges and was fascinated by how beautiful Lewis & Clark is. Before I decided to come to Lewis & Clark, I came to visit with my parents. We had a great experience on the campus tour. It was just what I wanted from college: a community with friendly peers and close student-faculty relationships.

How do you feel supported as an international student at Lewis & Clark?

It is nice to be an international student at Lewis & Clark. The International Students and Scholars (ISS) Office works hard to engage with students and I feel like we are a family. When I have questions or problems, they are always willing to help me. Throughout the year, they also organize some interesting events.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

I really like the lawn in front of the reflection pool. Especially when it’s sunny and warm. It’s so nice to sit on the lawn, chill with friends, read books, or listen to music.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Portland?

I really like the farmers’ markets and night market in Portland. Personally, I am really into handmade crafts. I also really enjoy the atmosphere there and hanging out with friends. Also, there are a lot of nice local coffee shops in Portland. I have been exploring many nice ones.

How did you decide on a major?

I took Intro to Economics with Professor Bostian when I was a freshman. I enjoyed using the graphic method to explain economic theories. At the same time, I took Econ Statistics as well. I wanted to know more about different types of economics and decided to major in it.
