Anthony Van Nice

Class of 1997
Sherwood, OR

Anthony Van Nice’s interest in wine started as a child at his grandfather’s side, but his first time working in a winery was while he was a student at Lewis & Clark when he landed a job at Archery Summit Winery. He has spent the last 15 years working his way up by traveling the globe and gaining hands-on knowledge of every facet of the industry.

After working for a wine distributor in Chicago, Anthony took a sales position at Pine Ridge and Archery Summit wineries, using that time to learn more about the business. He eventually formed Van Nice Fine Wine, consulting with top winemakers across the country, and also earned an MBA from Cornell University.

Sensing a unique opportunity, Anthony came to The Four Graces as their first employee in 2005. As President, he oversees all operations, including vineyard management, winemaking, sales and marketing. He initially built the brand with an innovative national distribution model focusing on major U.S. cities, and he implemented a partnership strategy with fine restaurants that resulted in The Four Graces being named one of the top 15 most popular pinots served in restaurants nationwide.

Anthony has led the way as The Four Graces has perfected the sustainable vineyard practices, minimum intervention and low yields that come together to produce rightfully renowned wines. He is a board member of both the Dundee Hills Winegrowers Association and Oregon Pinot Camp.
