Note: Attendance at in-person events will require proof of full Covid-19 vaccination. Current LC students, staff, and faculty can show their LC ID cards or proof of vaccination. Attendees without a current LC ID will be required to show proof of vaccination. Documentation will be reviewed at the door for all attendees. To allow for contact tracing, priority for in person events will be given to attendees who complete pre-registration.

6:00 pm* Keynote address by Dr. Naveed Mansoori, “Propaganda and Post-Truth Politics.” The address will be followed by discussion with faculty panelists and Q&A. This in person event will also be live streamed via Zoom.
- Faculty panelists will be Dr. James Proctor, Director of ENVS, and Dr. Kundai Chirindo, Associate Professor of Rhetoric and Media Studies.

- The prompt for the story exchange is: “Tell a story about encountering information that challenged your previous understandings, whether via conversation or media. Did you discuss it, research it, dismiss it, argue about it? How did that go?”

5:30-7:30 pm* Crossing Party Lines workshop, “Navigating Conversations About Science in a Post-Truth World” and closing reception.
- How do we talk about science when their science is “wrong?” In this workshop you will learn a new framework for talking about science in a civil, respectful way that lets participants explore how and where the disconnect is and how to get past it.
- This workshop will be facilitated by Lisa Swallow, Executive Director of Crossing Party Lines.
- There are several handouts that will be referenced during the workshop:
