Hello from the Odell Annex

Hello L&C Students!

Good afternoon from the Odell Annex. My name is Ben Meoz, and I’m this week’s guest column writer for The Bark. I serve as the Associate Vice President for Campus Life and Senior Associate Dean of Students at L&C. In my role I work with Campus Living, Student Rights & Responsibilities, and College Outdoors.

This is our first full semester in the Odell Annex, and the Odell Annex Desk is staffed until 7:00 p.m., 7 days a week, offering daytime services such as lockout keys, work order help, and (coming up) housing application help.

Campus Living is gearing up for the housing application and assignment process for the 2024–25 academic year. Many of you have reached out to ask for insight into what this year’s timeline and process will look like, so here are some important details we want you all to have:

• February 22, Living Learning Community Fair: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Stamm
• March 1, 2024-25 Housing Application opens
• March 31, 2024-25 Housing Application priority deadline to have your application in and your deposit paid to be considered an “on-time” application.

Campus Living will have a couple things they are piloting this year with the housing application. All opportunities will open up for expressing interest on March 1, 2024.

1. Quad & Triple FastPass: In an effort to support returning residents who want to secure a triple or quad with their roommate group. This opt-in process will allow your roommate group to let our office know about your desire to live in a triple/quad before room selection and secure a triple/quad booking without the need to participate in room selection.
2. Suites @ Copeland: Leaning into Copeland Hall’s modular design Campus Living is creating a path for students who have a group between 11-16 residents in size to have their own piece of Copeland that has a mix of singles, doubles, and quads. Only 2-3 of these groups will be piloted this next year. Priority will be given to applications that show a group’s alignment with one or more of our Campus Living foundations. Application packets on Suites @ Copeland will be available for pickup at the LLC Fair on February 22, and at the Odell Annex starting on Friday February 23, 2024.
3. Launchpad LLC Location: Campus Living will be shifting away from having all our apartment communities be the Launchpad Living Learning Community. Roberts Hall Apartments will become the home of Launchpad starting with Fall 2024, and will require acceptance to the Launchpad LLC. Students who want to be considered for can review application details here.

Campus Living will push out more information and reminders in the coming weeks, but you can already follow this link to the Campus Living website for additional important dates and processes (e.g., housing accommodation, LLC application dates). We hope you will come out on February 22 during the LLC fair, and Campus Living will also host several information sessions and drop-ins in the Odell Annex throughout the month of March to provide application support.
