Lewis & Clark College and The Center for Social Change and Community Involvement (the Center) value thoughtful engagement in service and leadership as an integral part of student development and growth.
The Center offers Lewis & Clark undergraduate students the opportunity to complete the IMPACT certificate. The IMPACT certificate program aims to prepare students for civic leadership through a variety of immersive service-learning experiences, leadership development opportunities, and personal reflection.
We want to recognize students for their commitment to continued learning. Students that complete the IMPACT certificate will be recognized with a stole to wear at graduation and invited to an informal celebration at the end of the academic year.
Completed IMPACT certificate trackers can be emailed to email@example.com.
IMPACT Certificate Requirements:
|Meet with a staff member from the Center||15 min||We require one meeting to orient students to the certificate program. The purpose of this meeting is to get to know you, to set you up on GivePulse, and help you get connected to service opportunities that interest you. While only one meeting is required, you are welcome to schedule additional meetings at any time. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment.|
|Service and Leadership Hours||50 hours||
Hours can be completed on the students schedule. In other words, you can finish the service & leadership requirements in one year or over your entire L&C career.
|Record Keeping||GivePulse||The easiest way to track your hours is through the GivePulse platform. After a service event, you can “add impact” to keep a record of your service and leadership events. If you are doing an independent event outside of the Center offerings, let us know and we can help set up a GivePulse event for your current service.|
|Reflection||Complete Reflections||This component is meant to have you reflect on your experiences throughout the certificate program. Reflections should be completed within 5 days of each completed activity. Complete the reflection form.|
