Lewis & Clark College’s Academic Advising Program
Upon arrival at Lewis & Clark, each first-year student is assigned a pre-major academic advisor, often one of the professors in his or her fall-semester courses. That faculty advisor is a key resource for academic information and guidance about graduation requirements, course selection, semester schedules, four-year plans, and choosing a major. Advisees may also chat with advisors about career plans and strategize about academic challenges and difficulties. Upon selecting a major, the student then chooses a major advisor, who provides vital information and guidance about that specific department or program, major and other requirements, and internships and other opportunities. In this way, from matriculation to graduation and beyond, each Lewis & Clark student can count on obtaining accurate academic imformation, guidance, and support from faculty advisors.
