FREE Resources and Goods for Students Staying Over the Break

Hi everyone,

My name is Tobias Varntoft and I am the President of the International Students of Lewis & Clark College (ISLC). For those of you staying on campus over winter break, we know that with COVID is significantly making it harder to get a stable income over this break and we wanted to reduce the cost for any student who is struggling over this break in acquiring necessary items and goods. Please read below for vital information about FREE resources and goods for you to have over the break.

Picking up a (free) Resource Bag
ISLC has worked for the past few weeks on the resources that will be given to you. These resources will be available for you to pick up on (Monday/Tuesday), December (14th/15th) between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the ISS Office in Templeton. The ISS office is located at the top of the stairwell in Templeton close to IME. For safety measures, you are required to sign up via this spreadsheet. I strongly encourage you to pick this up and you do not need a justification to want free items! If for some reason you cannot make it, please reach out to me at tobiasvarntoft@lclark.edu and we can set up another time for you to pick up the stuff. Since this is available to anyone who is staying on campus, please forward this information to any students who might be in need of some resources!

The resource bag includes:
Menstrual & sanitary products
Dish soap
Laundry detergent
Disinfection wipes
Hand sanitizer
Masks
Plate, cutlery, and a bowl
Dish sponge
Small first aid kit
Bulked Food

Winter Break Group Chat
We also acknowledge that the winter break can be a lonely, cold, and isolating time for many of us. We have decided to make a WhatsApp group chat for anyone who is staying on campus so please fill out this form if you are interested in joining. In past years these group chats have been to communicate with fellow students in a shared group chat and perhaps get to know new people.
Conversation with Robin Holmes-Sullivan, .
Robin Holmes-Sullivan, the Vice president of Student Life and Dean of Students, have made herself available for ZOOM meetings throughout the days of December 14th to December 18th. These ZOOM meetings are for Robin to foster dialogue between students who are staying and for her and the administration to hear about our desires/questions/wants for the winter break. I highly suggest you sign up for one of the meetings and meet with Robin to talk about what you would like to have over the winter berak. Robin has been a strong support within ISLC and we encourage all of you to attend one of the meetings.

Kindest regards,
Tobias Varntoft - President of ISLC
