7:00 pm Showing of the film, Deep Green. Followed by discussion with Matt Briggs, Director and Writer of Deep Green, and Jeongsu Shin, sociocultural anthropologist.  This event will be held in The Council Chambers, in Fowler Student Center

Tuesday, October 1, 2024
7:00-8:15 pm Keynote presentation by Dr. Angel Hsu, Associate Professor of public policy and environment, ecology, and energy at the University of North Carolina UNC.  The title of Dr. Hsu’s presentation is forthcoming.  Her presentation will be followed by discussion and audience Q&A.  This event will be held in The Council Chambers, in Fowler Student Center.

8:30 pm Keynote reception. This event will be held in the Beth Miller Lounge (Council Chambers foyer) in Fowler Student Center.  

Wednesday, October 2, 2024
7:00-8:30 pm Panel discussion on the transition to electric vehicles.  Panelists include: Paul Lackey, President and Engineer of EVDrive, Yan Liang, Chair of Economics at Willamette University; Kris Strickler, Director of the Oregon Department of Transportation; and Yizhao Yang, Professor and Director of the SCI-China Program, University of Oregon.  This event will be held in The Council Chambers, in Fowler Student Center.

Thursday, October 3, 2024
7:00-8:15 pm Keynote presentation by Dr. Yiping Fang, Associate Professor of Urban Studies & Planning, Portland State University. The title of Dr. Fang’s  presentation is The “Success” of China’s Rapid Development. Her presentation will be followed by discussion and audience Q&A. This event will be held in The Council Chambers, in Fowler Student Center.

Friday, October 4, 2024
6:00-7:30 pm Closing reception.  Participants will be able to interact with some of the presenters from the week’s events and discuss the topics presented.
