This site includes both Senior Experience sponsored activities during the Spring 2012 and Commencement related events.

 

The Senior Experience is a series of events and programs designed to celebrate your last year at Lewis & Clark. This page contains information that will help you navigate the many fun activities planned for your last semester and other resources you will find useful as you move towards graduation.

Make sure you also explore the Commencement website, which has all the useful information on the steps you need to take to graduate, and help you and your families start planning for the Commencement Weekend.

The Department of Physical Education and Athletics will host graduating senior student-athletes and their families as well as coaches, faculty, and staff. Graduating student athletes wear an orange cord at graduation as a visible signal of the College’s appreciation for representing the school in varsity athletics.

A “by-invitation” reception honoring graduating seniors whose family members are alumni of Lewis & Clark. At the reception, legacy seniors will be receive a medallion with orange ribbon to be worn at Commencement.

Phi Beta Kappa Induction and Reception
Saturday, May 5, 1-3 p.m.
Templeton, Stamm.
The Lewis & Clark chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, Gamma of Oregon, celebrates its induction of new members into the oldest undergraduate honors program in the United States, recognizing seniors and juniors who exemplify the academic excellence and breadth of learning essential to a liberal education. The initiation ceremony, which includes a keynote address by a distinguished visiting speaker, will be followed by a reception for new initiates, family, and friends. Hosted by Phi Beta Kappa faculty.

Baccalaureate Celebration
Saturday, May 5, 4 p.m.
Agnes Flanagan Chapel.
This inspirational event is planned and organized by seniors. Includes music, dancing, readings, and reflections from classmates along with a special guest speaker. All seniors and their families are invited to this spiritually inclusive celebration.

Class of 2012 Banquet: Celebrating New Alumni and Your Families
 Saturday, May 5, 6:30pm, Downtown Hilton Hotel, (921 SW 6th Ave)
Join fellow seniors, families, professors, and friends for a special evening to celebrate the Class of 2012 and your achievements. Celebrate the great years on campus and off, contributions your class has made to the College and Portland community, and honor those who made your education possible. *Tickets are $16 for seniors and $36 for family members before April 1; $26 for seniors and $46 for family members after April 2.

Graduation Party

 Kell’s Irish Restaurant & Pub, 112 SW 2nd Avenue, Portland.
$5 per person cover; food/beverage on a personal cash basis.
Pioneer Express will run from campus to chosen venue at 7 p.m. from Templeton, with departures from Templeton every hour.  Departures from Kell’s to Templeton on the half hour.. Last departure from Kell’s to campus is 1:30 a.m. Details on entertainment forthcoming.
