What is the Senior Gift?

The Senior Gift is an opportunity for graduating seniors to give back to the Lewis & Clark community and support the education of current and future students. Philanthropy is a long-standing tradition at Lewis & Clark and this is our first act as alumni of the college. This year, the Senior Gift will be going to the Annual Fund because that way, our gifts will be used in areas that it’s needed most. 

What is the Annual Fund?

Since tuition covers only about 75% of the cost of education at Lewis & Clark, the college depends partly on the Annual Fund to cover the gap. Gifts to the Annual Fund benefit students immediately, supporting L&C’s highest priorities and most critical needs by: 

• Funding Scholarships.
• Retaining and recruiting superb faculty.
• Sustaining innovative academic and community enrichment programs. 

Best of all, you have the option to designate your gift to a particular area of campus that you want to support such as an academic department or professor. This is a great gesture to thank them and show your appreciation.

Why is Participation Important?

• High alumni participation rates attract large grants from outside foundations.

• The higher alumni participation is, the higher Lewis & Clark climbs in national rankings.

I’m not a graduating senior. Can I still give to the Senior Gift?

Yes, you can certainly give in honor of a senior.

How do I give?

• Stop by the Senior Gift table at Senior Experience events.
• Talk to a committee member. 
• Give online.
• You can give by cash, check, or credit/debit card.

Give Online

When giving online, please remember to write “Senior Gift” in the “Other Instructions” box, so your gift will count as a part of the Senior Gift! If you give online remember to stop by our table to sign your name on the giving board and pick up a Senior Gift Button for your graduation gown.
