    Students are invited to participate in this self-paced seminar course. Each week, Prof. Allen will post a short lecture, with notes, homework, and sample code, to a Google Classroom site. The site will also serve as a forum for students to discuss the material.

  • Cover page of What the Eyes Don’t See by Mona Hanna_Attasi 4:00pm - 5:00pm: Chemistry Book Group

    The chemistry department is organizing a summer reading group focused on reading What the Eyes Don’t See by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, the Flint, MI pediatrician who demonstrated that children’s blood lead levels rose dramatically after the city changed its drinking water source. The group will use its first meeting on June 15 to outline a format for the rest of the summer. All are welcome.

  • 5:00pm - 6:00pm: Art Department Discussion
    The Department of Art and Art History will gather in three online sessions in July and August. Events will include a discussion of art in the current social and political moment, and visits with faculty in which they will share current research, interests, and studio practices. These sessions will offer students an opportunity to connect with the department over the summer and learn about other aspects of faculty work outside of the classroom.

    This group, meeting weekly over the summer, will review the latest macroeconomic data releases and literature and attempt to put it into context.  No prior experience is assumed or required, and all - including non L&C guests such as family and friends - are welcome.

    This group, open to all LC community members, will meet once a week to read, analyze, and discuss a short poem or literary passage.

    Calling all L&C community members! Throughout the course of this program, we will learn about choral music repertoire from across time periods and cultures, new choral music being written in response to contemporary issues, vocal technique, sight reading/music literacy resources, and of course, we’ll do a little singing! No prior experience is necessary.
