Fall Foliage Hike: Explore Bishop’s Close Gardens
Date: 3:30pm - 5:30pm PDT October 23 Location: Maggie’s Cafe
Fall in Oregon is one of the most beautiful times of the year when many of the trees burst with bright colors. Best place to see them is the Bishop’s Close, a garden about one and a half miles from campus. It was originally the home and gardens of an early Portland multi-millionaire. It’s only open M-F from 9 to 5, so that’s why this hike is on Friday afternoon.
This is the perfect opportunity to take a break, get outdoors, meet students you haven’t met before, maybe make a few new friends, and learn to appreciate the nature outside your window in a whole new way. Sam Smith, a senior and bio major, is your guide.
Wear comfortable hiking shoes. It’ll be dusk on our hike back, so wear light or reflective clothing if possible and bring a headlamp or flashlight (or- as a last resort, a charged-up cell phone with a light) if you have one.
No Experience Necessary! This will be a fun way to get off campus with your “pod,” or sign up on your own to meet new people!RSVP link - https://www.lclark.edu/live/events/321879-fall-foliage-hike-explore-bishops-close-gardens Learn more at http://lclark.presence.io/event/fall-foliage-hike-explore-bishops-close-gardens
