What three words would you use to describe L&C?

Engaging, Challenging, Unique

What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?

The small class sizes and the personal relationship you get to develop with your peers and professors.

What have you been doing since graduation?

I moved to three different states and pursued a master’s degree in environmental education after fostering a passion for environmental communication at Lewis & Clark. I have now worked at five wildlife conservation facilities and am in charge of education at a raptor center that does world class conservation. I have presented at multiple conferences and became a certified professional bird trainer, one of 124 people in the world. My role helps me meet people from all over the world and educate them on local conservation that can have a global impact.

How did Lewis & Clark prepare you for your work?

Lewis & Clark prepared me to work hard and think out of the box. The skills I learned in my classes have translated into the professional world and the relationships I have built have helped carry me forward.

What would you say is the most important thing you learned at Lewis & Clark?

How to eloquently advocate for myself.

Why did you major in international affairs?

I majored in international affairs because I was fascinated by global systems and the chain of effects that can take place. I wanted to study wicked problems and try to pinpoint actionable items to solve them.

How do you stay connected to Lewis & Clark as an alum?

I keep tabs on what is going on from a distance and stay in touch with fellow alums.
