Nova graduated with a BA in psychology in 2021, with a focus on clinical psychology courses and an interest in mental health. After graduation, she began working at Hygiene4All, a local houseless-run organization that helps provide hygiene access to the unhoused people of Portland. As the director of H4A’s hygiene hub, Nova led a team of staff and volunteers in providing showers, clean clothing, and most importantly, a place of safety for people experiencing houselessness. After 2 years in this position, Nova decided to return to school in 2023 and learn more about how to serve vulnerable and marginalized populations. They are currently beginning a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) program at the University of Washington, and is expecting to graduate in the spring of 2025 with a clinical specialization.
