    • Carly Henderson BA ’95, MA ’02 has worked in the counseling psychology field since 2002, first overseas in Tanzania, the Czech Republic, and Italy, and then returning to Portland in 2008. She owns MindWise Therapy in Southeast Portland and enjoys working as a child and family therapist. She lives close to her extended family in Northeast Portland, with 6-year-old daughter Lily, husband Ben, and some critters.

    • Cassandra Broadwin BA ’17 is running a fundraiser to build a movie theatre in rural Madhya Pradesh, India. As a Dinah Dodds Endowment recipient, Broadwin spent her time studying abroad in India working to produce a documentary film about Janwaar Castle, a skate park in Madhya Pradesh that has had a large impact on the lives of the villagers. Now that the film is complete, she hopes to bring it back to the village for a screening. The fundraiser can be found at www.gofundme.com/namaskate.

    • Marley Hauser BA ’16 volunteers for SheWinS, a Vermont-based foundation that empowers young girls in South Africa through sports. In January 2017, Hauser departed for Memel, South Africa, for a three-month stay as a soccer coach. Hauser will also serve as an academic mentor and a women’s reproductive rights advocate.

    • Brian Lindstrom BS ’84, a documentary filmmaker known for Finding Normal, Alien Boy, and Mothering Inside, was presented with the ACLU of Oregon’s Civil Liberties Award at the 2017 Liberty Dinner in February.

    • Brian Lindstrom BS ’84, a Portland-based filmmaker, won Best Documentary at the 2016 Oregon Independent Film Festival for his latest film, Mothering Inside. The film follows the mothers and children of the Family Preservation Project and explores the challenges of motherhood in incarceration. Last fall, Lindstrom received a 2016 Fellowship Award for artistic excellence and achievement in the media arts from the Regional Arts & Culture Council.

    • Jade Lansing BA ’12 spent two years in Beirut, Lebanon, working for the United Nations and two years as the manager of a small ethnographic field school in Agadir, Morocco. She recently moved to Thailand to work as a freelance copywriter and online ESL instructor.

    • Barra Brown BA ’12, who studied classical flute in the music department, has been teaching music and is now primarily touring and gigging. He has toured with Shook Twins (now his full-time gig), Ages and Ages, Morning Ritual, and Alameda. He has personal projects as well, including Korgy & Bass and the Barra Brown Quintet and Trio. He’s released two records as a leader with PJCE Records and two records with Cavity Search Records since graduating. This year, Brown will release his third album with Cavity Search Records and is finishing up two more. “I still live in Portland, and I’m engaged to Maya, whom I met at L&C.”

    • Lisa Neher BA ’09 completed her doctor of musical arts degree in voice performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa in December 2016. Neher is on faculty at Coe College and Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her recent performance credits include alto soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass with the Iowa City Chamber Singers and mezzo soloist in Duruflé’s Requiem with the Grinnell Oratorio Singers. She has also performed in the premieres of several new works with the Iowa Composers Forum.
