Associate Professor of English
Lyell Asher joined the department in 1994 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 1990. Here at Lewis & Clark, he offers courses in Shakespeare’s Early Works, Later Works; Ideas of the Renaissance and Modernity; Renaissance Literature; The Art of the Novel; Major Periods and Issues; and Shakespeare’s Roman Plays. His critical essays have appeared in Christianity and Literature, The Yale Journal of Criticism, Journal of the American Academy of Religion, Publication of the Modern Language Association (PMLA), and Clio.
