Congratulations!

Guest Columnist: Evette Castillo Clark

Dear Students,
CONGRATULATIONS! It’s finals week, which means the end of the academic year is in your sights. You’re almost there! I cannot wait to celebrate our graduates at Commencement this Saturday, May 4, and to step away from the ceaseless rhythm of academic life and the back-to-back campus programs and events for a bit.
One of the reasons I work in student life is that I absolutely love learning and growing with you, and sharing your joys, frustrations, and accomplishments. To those of you graduating: I’m so proud of all that you’ve done, and I know you’re ready for the next phase of your life. While I’ll miss seeing you around, please do stay in touch. I hope L&C will always be a place that feels like home for you.
Thank goodness not all of you graduate at once! Count another year done at Lewis & Clark! I’m looking forward to seeing many of you on campus in the fall. We’ll have a lot to talk about, I’m sure. Until then, be kind to yourself, and to others, and do what you need to do to get ready for the next year on Palatine Hill.
I’m excited for what’s to come—for all of us. Congratulations again!
