Ashton grew up in Seattle, Washington and developed an early love affair with theatre through the Seattle Children’s Theatre.  Continuously amazed by the imaginative power of story telling, and after receiving a strong foundation at the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, Ashton combined her love for visual arts and theatre through costume design, graduating in 2007 with her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.  Following her immersion at Carnegie Mellon, Ashton spent two years in Los Angeles working on television series and feature film productions, before returning to the Northwest to re-engage with her imaginative roots.  Since her return, Ashton has designed for the Oregon Children’s Theatre, the Portland Playhouse, Portland Actor’s Conservatory, Portland Actors Ensemble, Clackamas Repertory Theatre and Theatre Vertigo.
