Shipping to Campus
- You can send packages to yourself before you get here. You are able to send yourself packages UNDER 50 POUNDS IN WEIGHT on or after August 12th. If you live Overseas, in Alaska or Hawaii ship your trunks or boxes by air by August 10th. Regardless where you’re departing from, have your belongings in Portland by August 23rd.
- NSO volunteers and mail room staff will be moving your boxes to your rooms. Please keep this in mind while packing- the backs of the box movers will appreciate it.
- Ship regular/large boxes via UPS. Keep in mind that it is often cheaper to send smaller boxes than one large box. Ship smaller boxes via U.S. Postal Service. If you send 5 boxes, for example, mark each box “1 of 5”, “2 of 5” “3 of 5” and so on.
- Please write the name of your residence hall and “NSO” on every box you ship. Bring the receipt or a copy for your shipment with you to campus.

Also, remember that you are always able to purchase items here. Oregon has no sales tax so you might save yourself a decent chunk of change. We will have a trip to a local grocery and hardware store (Fred Meyer) during NSO where you can pick up a lot of the essentials at discounted student prices.
If you are worried about shopping while you get here, you can look into pre-purchase options. Places such as Bed, Bath & Beyond allow you to use their scanners to decide what you want in a store near your home and they will have boxes ready to go with what you ordered at home in a store near here.
