Lead Facilitators

Each section of PSI is led by a staff member at Lewis & Clark. PSI selects educational leaders for this role so that students may build developmental relationships with community members they would likely not otherwise see in the classroom. This is also an opportunity for our staff to work directly with students.

Each year, our facilitators report building productive relationships with students that persist throughout the students’ time at Lewis & Clark. The connection between Lead Facilitator and Co-Facilitator is richer still, many of whom not only become colleagues but develop mentor-relationships beyond their time at Lewis & Clark.

Co-Facilitators

An undergraduate student of sophomore standing or higher leads each section of PSI alongside a Lead Facilitator. This student leader connects with their peers in an authentic, fun, and caring way, introducing new members of our community to life at Lewis & Clark.

Many PSI participants express how impactful this fellow student in the room can be. Co-facilitators gain valuable leadership and communication skills and develop close working relationships with college staff.

PSI hires student Co-Facilitators during each spring semester. Visit the employment information page.

Sexual Health Peer Educators

PSI partners with Health Promotion & Wellness to bring Sexual Health Peer Educators into the classroom. These students are trained to engage in dialogue around forming healthy romantic relationships, identifying and intervening in concerning situations, wellness and victims’ resources, and the definition of consent within the Lewis & Clark community.

PSI students have consistently remarked on how valuable and engaging this workshop is. We believe that students teaching students about sexual wellness is the most impactful and authentic way to approach this critical topic.
