Zoom Changes - SSO & Account Provisioning

Starting this spring, IT will integrate Single Sign On (SSO) and Zoom. This process will also automatically provision Zoom licenses to Lewis & Clark accounts logging into Zoom for the first time. Staff and faculty employees will get Pro Zoom licenses, students will receive basic licenses with the option to request a Pro license.

Entrepreneurial Thinking, Networking, and Pitching on Display at Winterim 2024

In mid-January, the Bates Center for Entrepreneurship and Leadership hosted its annual entrepreneurial workshop, known as Winterim. The event brought 29 students to campus prior to the start of spring semester for a week of learning, networking, and mentoring, which culminated in a pitch competition for $13,000 in prizes.

New Zoom Minimum Version 10/25

To address a security vulnerability, on October 24th, 2023 L&C’s Zoom instance will be set to a new minimum version requirement for all clients. Mac and Windows workstations need to update to Zoom 5.16.2 in order to continue joining and hosting meetings. Out of date Zoom applications will not be able to join L&C hosted meetings.

COVID Policy Updates and Information

Welcome back, students! Below you will find important information on COVID policies and isolation guidelines. This guidance remains in line with the CDC and OHA.


  • COVID vaccinations are no longer required to attend class, but are strongly recommended.

  • Masking is encouraged when feeling sick. Free KN95 masks are available in the Health Promotion and Wellness office (Fowler 110) and in residence halls.

  • Testing options:
    • Rapid antigen tests are for sale in the bookstore.
    • Other COVID testing is available in the Student Health Center.

    • If you have COVID:
      • Isolate IN PLACE until fever-free for 24 hours and symptoms improving (no longer specifically 5 days of isolation).
      • Mask while symptomatic for up to 10 days.
      • Reporting is no longer required.

Student Center Phase 2 Construction Complete! NEW SPACES OPEN 10/7!

A large portion of the student center’s second floor opens SOON, 10/7!

WHAT’S OPEN?
Basically, everything except for the old Mail Room and hallway on the west end of the second floor will be open. We will begin installing furniture in this space starting Wednesday, 9/28. In addition, the east exterior (ravine side) stairs will also be open and usable starting 10/7. 

Note that visitors to Fields Dining Room will still need to enter from the wooden ramp on the northwest side of the building. 

Please continue to be watchful of construction signage and stay clear of any areas identified as a construction zone.

We know parking is tight on campus, but we also have to ensure that our fire lanes are clear of vehicles in the event of an emergency. As you come to campus each day, please be mindful of the red lines either on the curb or on the pavement that say No Parking Fire Lane.

Lewis & Clark accounts will no longer have access to Google Photos starting July 1, 2022

Google Photos will be turned off for all Lewis & Clark accounts on July 1, 2022. The Google Photos application is not a core service covered by the Google for Education Workspace agreement with schools. In addition, Google Photos application poses a storage liability with the end of free unlimited storage for schools.
