Check-In Procedures

Residents are required to collect their room key as part of the proper check-in process. Please follow steps below for check-in and key collection.

  • New Students should first check in at Maggie’s Plaza to receive their new student welcome packet and orientation schedule. Orientation check-in will be open from 8am-2pm PST.
  • After New Student Orientation Check-in, check-in with Campus Living staff at your residence hall beginning at 8am for your room key. Students who have submitted their Student ID photo before the deadline listed in the New Student Summer Checklist will have their ID cards available during Campus Living check-in. After Campus Living check-in, you will be able to complete move-in and participate in New Student Orientation move-in activities.
    • Campus Living check-in will be open from 8am - 2:30pm. We ask that you arrive on campus before 2pm to give yourself enough time to make it to the New Student welcome, which will start at 3pm.
    • Students who did not submit a photo for their ID card will need to create an ID card at the Campus Safety office, located next to gate 3.
  • Returning Residents will need to check in with Campus Living staff before receiving their room key. More information on the exact location will be emailed to returning residents before move-in day.

Room Condition Verification

After students are checked in for housing, they will need to complete a Room Condition Verification. This process is simple (5-10 minutes) and can be done on a computer or mobile device.

Prior to your arrival, Campus Living staff enters each room space and indicates the condition of each item in the room. Once you have arrived and moved-in it is your turn to verify that the inventory of items in your room, and their condition, have been properly recorded by Campus Living. This process informs what Campus Living looks for during your future move-out inspection. This is how we assess furniture and room damage and maintenance needs, as well as how we determine what residents will be held responsible for.
