Summer Internships

Students considering a summer internship or independent study should carefully read the Independent Study and Internship policy in the College Catalog, as well as the supplemental summer information listed below.  

299/499 Independent and Directed Studies

Students who wish to receive credit for a directed or independent study completed during Summer Sessions must register for the credits before the end of the corresponding summer add/drop period using the Independent Study form  All students taking independent studies in the summer must pay regular summer tuition.  The Independent and Directed Study Learning Agreement may be found on the Registrar’s forms page.

244/444 Internships and Practica

Students pursuing summer internships with off-campus partners need not register nor receive course credit to receive the benefits of the internship experience. However, students who do wish to receive academic credit for internships taken off campus must register before the end of the corresponding summer add/drop period using the Internship and Practicum Learning Agreement form. Students registering for off-campus internships will not be charged summer tuition, but must pay a $225 processing fee. Students receiving credit must register before the end of the corresponding summer add/drop period. 

Students who sign up for on-campus practica in the summer must pay regular summer tuition.

Courses with internship components

Students taking summer internship courses numbered other than 244 or 444, or CDEV-145 or ELI-261 will be charged summer tuition.
