2012 Art Show
Art Exhibit, Stamm Dining Room, Templeton Campus Center
November 7- 9, 2012
Featuring work by Lewis & Clark College students and Portland-area artists, this exhibit incorporated a spectrum of works expressing ideas about race, ethnicity, culture and the modern world.
Curatorial Statement: Because this symposium focused on communication and media, the works in this exhibition were chosen because of their expression of rich concepts or ideas related to multiculturalism and racial or ethnic identity. By curating a more minimal show, we hoped to communicate how artists of color are still underrepresented in art institutions and the media while allowing the art displayed to resonate in ways words cannot.
Curated by L&C students Khethiwe Gumede ‘14 and Tyler Rizzo ’14.
Ray Warren Symposium on Race and Ethnic Studies is located in Miller Center on the Undergraduate Campus.
