Interdisciplinary Programs
At Lewis & Clark College, we recognize that academic disciplines are constructs that help us understand the world—not necessarily reflections of the way the world works.
Life is not divided neatly into chemistry and physics, economics and sociology, or English and history. In fact, these areas are deeply intertwined, affecting each other in sometimes obvious, sometimes subtle ways.
To help you explore and uncover these connections, Lewis & Clark offers a number of interdisciplinary majors and minors. These programs combine courses and faculty from many traditional academic subjects. They provide a way to move beyond traditional disciplines to a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the relationships that shape our world.
