There will be vocal performances by the Lewis & Clark Cappella Nova, and an alumni a cappella group.  Special brass music will be performed by the Columbia Brass, and our wonderful Casavant organ will be played by our college organist Bruce Neswick.  This year’s theme is “Celebrating Holiday Traditions.”

    The Lewis and Clark Orchestra presents “A Night at the Opera/Symphony/Movies” featuring Rossini’s Barber of Seville Overture, W. A. Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor, and the west coast premiere of Nosferatu - the 1922 silent movie with orchestral accompaniment. Original movie with a modern film score by Beau Benson.

    Admission is free and open to the public.

  • Pointsettias and other festive decorations adorn Agnes Flanagan Chapel for the 40th annual Holida... 8:00pm - 9:00pm PST: Annual Holiday Service of Sacred Song & Verse
    The 40th annual Service of Sacred Song & Verse features traditional advent scripture readings, congregational singing of Christmas carols and wonderful holiday and sacred music. The theme this year is “Celebrating Stories and Songs of the Season.” There will be vocal performances by the Lewis & Clark Cappella Nova with the Alumni choir and the Women’s Chorus. An organ prelude and postlude along with brass music played by Columbia Brass will also highlight the program.  Come enjoy a wonderful celebration of the season!

    President Barry Glassner and Betsy Amster welcome alumni for a Holiday reception before the annual Holiday chapel service.

    Lewis and Clark faculty Dorien de Leon and Susan DeWitt Smith will play Beethoven’s Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 5, No. 2, joined by the Oregon String Quartet performing Beethoven’s great late string quartet in Eb, Op. 127.

    In this concert OHSU professor of otolaryngology, Dr. William Martin, PhD, will discuss Beethoven’s deafness, lending insight into what hearing loss may have been like for him, what could have caused it, and what impact it may have had on his music.

    Free and open to the public.

    Lewis & Clark requires that all degree-seeking and visiting undergraduate students carry medical insurance comparable to that offered under the school’s Student Health Insurance Plan.  Students are automatically enrolled in the plan each year (offered in partnership with Aetna Student Health) unless they complete a waiver.  This session will review what parents need to know about th3 Aetna Student health Insurance plan, including information about how to waive the coverage.
