Preparing a Proposal
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?
You should be able to summarize your proposal in a few sentences. Include a clear statement of need.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO DO IT?
Why is it important that this project be done?
HOW ARE YOU GOING TO DO IT?
Describe your objectives and how you will attain them. Provide a timeline.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
What additional resources do you need to support the project?
WHY ARE YOU THE ONE TO DO IT?
What special credentials or experience do you have? Identify the resources you will bring to your project.
WHAT GOOD WILL COME FROM IT?
What problems are being addressed? Why are these problems significant, and to whom?
HOW WILL YOU EVALUATE ITS SUCCESS?
Consider measures of assessment. At a minimum you should indicate how and where you plan to disseminate the results of your project.
