Lewis & Clark is committed to maintaining high standards of integrity in research and scholarship, whether funded or not. The SRO supports research compliance for the College and is a resource for compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations—this includes providing information, helping interpret regulations, working with committees, and facilitating and monitoring training requirements.
Lewis & Clark has developed policies and established committees in order to comply with federal regulations regarding research involving humans, vertebrate animals, and potentially hazardous biological materials. These policies apply to all research, whether funded or not.
Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training is required for faculty and students engaged in research. Additional training is required for research involving human subjects, vertebrate animals, and/or hazardous materials.
