Jana Qasem

Hello! My name is Jana, I am Jordanian-American, and a student at Lewis & Clark. Learning languages has always been something I enjoyed. I speak Arabic and English fluently, and I am currently learning Spanish and French for my major in World Languages. I am also majoring in International Affairs, and minoring in Middle Eastern and North African Studies. I really enjoy tutoring Arabic; it is a great opportunity to meet new people and help them learn more about my culture, likewise, learning about theirs! Aside from academics, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and playing sports in my free time.

Salsabel Al Masri

My name is Salsabel Al Masri. I am originally from Syria. I came to the United States in 2017. I’ve been in the United States for 5 years now. I speak two languages, Arabic and English. I am a transfer student to Lewis & Clark this year, and I am a sophomore. My declared major is biology, and I am interested in becoming a medical doctor. Some interesting facts about me are that I really love riding horses, I really love running, writing poems and gardening! I am so excited to work as an Arabic tutor this Spring term. Teaching my home language is something special and unique to my heart. I would love to teach Arabic and help everyone with anything they need help with. I have office hours every Thursday from 12-2 pm. Everybody is welcome! So please don’t hesitate to ask for help. I am here to help.
