Jen Cox Cyphers

Class of 1998
Denver, Colorado

Jennifer Cyphers (Jen Cox) began at Lewis & Clark in 1994, after falling in love with the school’s small classes, liberal arts education, focus on international learning, student-focused culture, and beautiful campus. She majored in Foreign Languages (French and Spanish) and Psychology. During her first year at Lewis & Clark, Jennifer was a copy editor and reporter for The Pioneer Log, was a member of the Resident Director Search Committee, and played lacrosse on the co-ed club team. During her sophomore year, she studied abroad in Strasbourg, France. Jennifer spent her junior year at the University of Colorado at Boulder (to take advantage of in-state tuition), with the intention of graduating from Lewis & Clark. She moved back to Portland to complete her senior year at Lewis & Clark while she worked full-time, participated in work-study, and completed her capstone courses, Physiological Psychology and French Literature.

After graduation, Jennifer stayed involved as an Admissions Volunteer, a member of the Board of Alumni, host of many Black and Orange parties, and a member of the Philanthropy Committee. Jennifer feels compelled to support Lewis & Clark out of gratitude for her education and experiences while at Lewis & Clark, and also out of a commitment to doing her part to support critical thinking, global perspectives, and equity and inclusion at a time when our nation (and our world) needs it most.

Jennifer now lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband and two children, and spends time each year in Costa Rica and in California. She is the Founder and CEO of Pynwheel, Inc., a SaaS company that has developed touchscreen, mobile, and web applications for property tours.
