LeAnne Schrotzberger BA ’86 lives in West Linn, Oregon, with her husband and quite a few dogs and cats. As a newly adjusting empty-nester, she’s busy converting a former bedroom into a workout room as she realizes those kids aren’t just going to come back whenever she wants. She works in global corporate communications at Plantronics, where she is happily using her Lewis & Clark degree that is 30+ years old. In her spare time, Schrotzberger knits; experiments in the kitchen; and trains for and competes in distance triathlons.

Leanne Schrotzberger BA ’86 told her memorable story of overcoming setbacks to FOX 12’s MORE Sports last fall. After setting her sights on the Ironman competition in 2006, Schrotzberger was severely injured in a car accident, fracturing her hip. Doctors were unsure if she would be able to fully recover, let alone compete. But a decade later, she has completed her fifth Ironman and continues to race in memory of her parents and father-in-law, whom she says encouraged her to compete in the first place.
