Kurt Fosso received his PhD in English, with an emphasis in critical theory, from the University of California, Irvine. He joined LC’s Department of English in 1995, where he teaches courses on British Romantic literature, classical studies, and literary theory. His scholarly work focuses upon British Romantic writers, particularly William Wordsworth, whose poetry he explores for its social meaning in Buried Communities: Wordsworth and the Bonds of Mourning (SUNY Press). Currently, he is writing on the representation of animals and human animality in Romantic-era literature and painting. His essay “‘Feet of Beasts’: Tracking the Animal in Blake,” appears in the journal European Romantic Review.
