Bio

I am a senior Biochemistry & Molecular Biology major just back to Lewis & Clark from a semester abroad in Valparaíso, Chile. I spent Spring 2015 learning to speak Spanish the Chilean way, eating the world’s most delicious avocados, and traveling as far as Patagonia. I am happy to be back home and back in the lab. Working in Dr. Janis Lochner’s neurochemistry lab on campus has been one of the highlights of my time at LC. This year, I am conducting senior honors thesis research to investigate the mechanisms behind clustering of a protein implicated in long-term memory formation. When not on campus I enjoy baking cookies, reading funny books and sending postcards. Following graduation I plan to apply to medical school and end up, eventually, back in the Pacific Northwest.
