Hernando (Nando) Magallanes is a junior (25’) BHS Lab member from Portland, Oregon. Being a pre-med student, Nando is majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology along with minoring in health studies. Nando also recently became a Qualified Health Care Interpreter in Oregon. Nando joined the BHS Lab to broaden his research experiences; working with people and not just with biomolecules is what attracted Nando to join the lab. Outside of education, Nando is also a defensive back for the Lewis & Clark Pios football team. In his extra time, he loves to spend time with close friends and family, stay active, play sports, and eat and cook different styles of food.
