Emanuel Rose Scholarship

The Emanuel Rose Scholarship was established in 1979 by Lewis & Clark to honor Rabbi Rose’s dedicated service to the college. He began as an Overseer at Lewis & Clark in 1965 and was elected Trustee in 1972. He was chair of the Board of Trustees from 1988 to 1991 and elected a Life Trustee in 1995. He was Rabbi of Congregation Beth Israel, Oregon’s largest Jewish temple and was a well-known civic activist and religious spokesperson. The Emanuel Rose Scholarship supports Lewis & Clark students without restriction.
