Carly, a political science major and Hispanic studies minor, comes to Lewis and Clark from Eugene, two hours south of Portland. She joined Lewis and Clark’s student government in her first year as a senator, leading the initiative to increase ridership on the Pioneer Express and connect with local businesses. This year, she will continue in student government as a member of the cabinet, serving as the Health and Wellness Committee Chair. She has been a dedicated dancer for 16 years, and performed on campus last fall in Dance X. Inspired by a love of the outdoors, last year she trained on campus and received her Wilderness First Responder certification. On weekends, you will usually find Carly hiking among the trees of Tryon Creek State Park.
