Aside from four years in Boston and short stints abroad, I have always lived in Oregon - originally the central coast but mostly Portland since middle school; I am a very proud Oregonian!
Favorite spot on campus:
The reflecting pool and the Dovecote - great places to unwind, study, run into friends & faculty!
Little-known fact about me:
I climbed an active volcano while studying abroad in Chile and spent the summer when I was 16 living and volunteering in a village in the Dominican Republic.
Piece of advice for students in the college search process:
Visit campus if you can and ask lots of questions - it is important that you really assess if a school feels like the right fit for you. Speak with students, staff, and faculty if possible to gain a well-rounded understanding of the campus culture and strengths.
Favorite place to spend time in Portland:
Walking up Mt. Tabor, Hollywood District Farmer’s Market, and the countless quaint and quirky coffee shops.
If I was stranded on a desert island, I would want these three things:
My husband, brother, and mom. I would feel a bit guilty for making my brother and mom leave their significant others, but selfishly I know I could survive anything with humor and grace with those three people by my side!
If I didn’t work in Admissions, I would be:
An internationally traveling yoga teacher teaching retreats and yoga seminars in wonderful destinations like Latin America, SE Asia, and more! That or a chef at a wellness-oriented gluten-free/dairy-free cafe!
