Eric Taussig

Eric Taussig

Eric Taussig is the founder and CEO of Prialto Inc., a labor outsourcing company based in Portland, Oregon with service centers in Latin America and Asia. Prialto, Inc., initially located in Burlingame, California, was established in 2011 as the outgrowth of Prialto Personal Outsourcing. Eric Taussig had established the earlier company in 2009, with the idea of providing offshore personal assistant services to U.S. executives. He quickly learned that busy executives didn’t have time to onboard new employees or contractors. Frustrated by the process, they instead valued the ability to share and implement best practices for administrative help. At about the same time, Andy Mowat was also noticing a need for assistant services that went beyond the do-it-yourself model. Andy Mowat was then a senior executive at Elance, the largest online freelance marketplace. In November 2011, Andy Mowat and Eric Taussig joined forces to create today’s Prialto, Inc., a managed administrative services company.

In the summer of 2020, Eric received the Innovative Culture Award at Entrepreneurs’ Organization San Francisco’s (EOSF) Annual Gala. Eric was an EOSF member for almost 7 years and accepted the award on behalf of the Prialto team. The organization chose Eric as one of the three recipients due to Prialto’s solid growth, even during COVID-19, and focus on employee culture during these dynamic times. During the pandemic, Eric wrote an article on COVID-19’s effects on call center workers, which was featured in Wharton Magazine.

In 2020 and 2021, Prialto won an Oregon Best Workplaces award from the Oregonian. It also made the list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States by Inc. magazine.

Prior to founding Prialto, Eric Taussig was with Claria Corporation as director of international business development from 2003-2007. He was a partner with Belmont Capital Group from 2002-2004. Before Belmont, Eric worked in strategic consulting, risk management and corporate finance with a focus on the emerging markets and Greater China at JP Morgan Securities (Asia), Goldman Sachs (Asia), and Citicorp Securities (New York).

Eric received his BA in history from Lewis & Clark College where he served on the Board of Alumni from 2003 to 2007. He holds an MA in Mandarin Chinese and international politics from the University of Chicago and an MBA in finance and international corporate development from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He studied Mandarin for an academic year in Taiwan on a fellowship from the Stanford Center and the University of Chicago and is a fluent speaker of the language.
