Favorite spot on campusAs an undergraduate, you could always find me at the circle tables in Watzek Library, and that was one of my favorite social spots. When it is sunny, or I need a little quiet time, my favorite location is the top of the reflecting pool on the stone benches. It is a great place to reconnect with yourself and enjoy a lovely view.

Little-known fact about meI love sneakers! I have quite a few pairs. My favorite thing is putting together a great outfit with some cool sneakers to complete the look.

Piece of advice for students in the college search processWhen you are visiting schools, follow your “goosebumps” and your gut feeling. You should be able to say, “ Yes, that is something I can see myself doing, and this is the community I want to be supported by.” Also, consider the school location and see if it is a city you can build community with and spend time in because it is important to get away from campus and explore. Think about student organizations and activities that you may want to be involved in. Does the school have those? The takeaway is that you should feel that you will be able to grow in the community you choose to join and that the community will support you in your journey and provide you opportunities to grow.

Favorite place to spend time in PortlandSellwood waterfront park! It is absolutely gorgeous and there is a roller skating rink. Also, the Hawthorne Asylum because food is served out of food trucks!!!

If I was stranded on a desert island, I would want these three things

  1. Unlimited supply of cheeseburgers.
  2. A radio that is solar powered.
  3. Some cool sunglasses.

If I didn’t work in Admissions, I would be:  I would be a chef! I would open my own food truck called “ Ma’s Kitchen” after my grandma, and I would serve southeast Asian fusion with recipes my grandma would cook for me as a child. Maybe one day, I will be rocking my own food pod in the Pearl District.
