Karma Rose Zavita ’15

Karma Rose was born and raised in California’s Central Valley, and the Bay Area. At Lewis & Clark she majored in Psychology and minored in Gender Studies. She was actively involved in Campus Living, and A Capella, and she also studied abroad in Fall of 2013, as part of the East Africa Cultural Emersion program.

After college, she served in AmeriCorps, and soon after obtained her M.S in Criminology, and Criminal Justice from Portland State University, while working and interning.

Karma Rose is currently obtaining her PhD and is teaching in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society at The University of California, Irvine. She researches gender-based violence, campus sexual assault, Title IX and legal pluralism. When she finishes her doctorate she plans to remain in academia, and hopefully stay in sunny Southern California.
