What three words would you use to describe L&C?
What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?
I wanted to attend a small liberal arts college as far away from home as possible where I would be inspired by my fellow classmates and faculty.
How do you describe the liberal arts?
I think of the liberal arts as a disciplined framework to use to evaluate and study life, interactions with others, politics, policies, etc.
How did you select your major?
I started off in biology but also took classes that my friends found enjoyable and my major found me!
How did Lewis & Clark prepare you for your career?
Intense classes in international affairs theory built a foundation that I use to this day in understanding how to interact with others in the corporate world. In reality, corporate politics are a lot like international politics.
What would you say is the most important thing you learned at Lewis & Clark?
To be open to opportunities as they present themselves.
How do you encourage other alumni to give back to the college?
I try to lead by example and, when possible, ask fellow alumni to tell me about their experiences at L&C. Great memories inspire wonderful volunteers and donors.
