Michael Kasperzak BA ’76 is the former two-term mayor of Mountain View, California, elected in 2008 and 2012. Now semiretired, he is a regular platelet donor for the Red Cross and a trained Disaster Service volunteer. He serves as a mediator for the California Department of Insurance for insurance disputes arising from damage by California wildfires. He has become an accomplished sourdough baker; makes his own butter; and keeps three hives of bees, from which he harvests about 150 pounds of honey in each of several regular harvests.
