Trips: Iceland 2018, Willamette Valley Wine Retreat 2021
Future Trips: Antarctica 2023 with my son!

“My wife and I are definitely not ‘group tour’ type travelers, preferring bespoke, luxury experiences. But the LC travel program is unique and worthwhile - selecting distinctive destinations, upscale accommodations, keeping the group small and most importantly, the invaluable knowledge of a faculty member. We will definitely add more LC trips as a component of our travel portfolio in the future.”

What was a highlight from one of your trips?

Taking an expedition deep inside a glacier was something that was awe-inspiring and brought home the impact of global warming. The destination, paired with the ability to travel with a world-class faculty member make the LC Travel program unique. The depth of insight and perspective we got was invaluable.

Can you talk about the interactions you had with your LC faculty member?

Liz Safran was our faculty leader. She is SO passionate about geology and that passion was shared both in her on-the-go lectures and also in the choices of the day trips we took. Best of all, she is a lovely person and we truly enjoyed getting to know her!

Do you keep in touch with any of your fellow travelers?

Yes! Probably the best surprise of the trip, we ended up forming a deep friendship with two other couples who are parents of recent LC students and we have visited each other several times in LA where they live and the Bay Area where we reside. Thats a gift that lasts a lifetime. I was also able to re-connect with a classmate from my class.
